WHY WE NEED THE HOLY-SPIRIT IN OUR CHURCHES

'Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.' - Zechariah 4 vs 6

Hello Dearly Beloved in the LORD JESUS, this is indeed an interesting topic I am bringing to you right now, and I am very sure that this message will benefit you even more if you are a Pastor or a minister in GOD'S Precious Vineyard. Be Blessed.

Our opening scripture is a major Truth in the Kingdom of GOD, it says, not by might nor by power, but by the Spirit of the LORD. Waow. Beloved, I want to draw your attention to the Earthly ministry of JESUS, so as to bring to you in full view what I am talking about. JESUS was a man (though the Son of GOD) known mightily for Great Deeds, the Miraculous and the Supernatural which HE did in the seeing of men, but can I tell you that all those miracles and wonders changed nobody? The disciples saw HIS Glory awesomely, they saw HIS Power first hand, you may say how do I know that...It's here;

'And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book...' - John 20 vs 30 {KJV}

You see that? Every miracle happened right in their presence, but it didn't change them! Peter denied HIM, Judas betrayed HIM, they all fled and forsook HIM, the people shouted 'Crucify HIM'. It didn't change anybody, no it didn't. You know why? Because it's not by power neither is it by might. Uhmm you should be getting my point now. See this;

'Jesus answered them and said, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Ye seek me, not because ye saw the miracles, but because ye did eat of the loaves, and were filled.' - John 6 vs 26 {KJV}

This happened after JESUS had just fed the over 5,000 people with five (5) barley loaves of Bread and two (2) fishes. You can see that from the verse 10. Now we see from the verse 24 that they began to look for JESUS everywhere when JESUS had departed, and they finally found HIM in this verse 26, and there was what the LORD said to them. HE said that they sought after HIM not because they saw the miracles. Just another proof that the Power didn't change anybody. But what happened when the Spirit was poured upon the Church? We see Peter, a man who had denied the LORD, standing boldly for HIM and saving over a 3,000 at a spot . Waow!, that's because it's only by the SPIRIT are souls won to the FATHER.

Beloved, it is obvious in our Churches today that there is a tremendous display of the Power of GOD, and it's also very obvious that many are coming just to see the power, but they are not saved, it has even become terrible because these folks don't know they are unsaved been that they have put upon themselves the Christian Tag. But Beloved, it's the Holy Spirit that makes a man a Christian, it's not the choice of any man to make but the Spirit alone. It's time to invite the Holy-Spirit back to our Churches because it's only HIM that convicts and bring about true salvation. Many Preachers have gone intoxicated with the Power that they aren't actually bothered if the people are truly saved, simply because they can work some few miracles in HIS Name, and get the people to be loyal to their ministries; but you can't call 'loyalty and subjection' to be Salvation! One might say, 'I belong to this ministry', but that does not mean he belongs to Christ! This is the drama currently in the Church, and this is JESUS' current attention. - Selah
