HEBREWS 12 VS 14 - EXPLAINED

'Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord...' - Hebrews 12 vs 14

Hello Dearly Beloved in the LORD JESUS. I trust GOD that this word shared here right now will be a Blessing to you, and will give you an understanding in the Gospel. AMEN.

Now as regarding the subject of discussion, many have asked questions as to what the writer of that passage actually meant; what holiness was He talking about which is the requirement for seeing the LORD? Our personal works of perfection? Definitey not, He wasn't speaking about absolute human perfection. Because you see, the WORD describes the body of flesh which we are currently put up with here on earth as corruptible (perishable, evil);

'For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.' - 1 Corinthians 15 vs 53 - 54 {KING JAMES VERSION}

Apostle Paul speaking about the flesh described it as having nothing good;

'For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing...' - Romans 7 vs 18 {KJV}

This is simply a description of the character and nature of this earthly flesh. So the writer of our opening Bible passage couldn't have spoken as absolute human perfection as the requirement to seeing the LORD. Let's continue;

'My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous...' - 1 John 2 vs 1 {KJV}

Here, the Apostle John in His writing made it clear to us that the Believer can sin (due to circumstances), yet He didn't say that if the Believer sins He is finished; He didn't say if the Believer sin He has missed it, no! Instead He gives Hope; He says He has an Advocate (JESUS) with the FATHER who ever liveth to make intercessions for us (Hebrews 7 vs 25).

Hallelujah. So what could the writer of Hebrews 12 vs 14 possibly have said? Let's do a double reference, to see where else in the Bible that this subject of seeing the LORD was discoursed;

'Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.' - Matthew 5 vs 8 {KJV}

You see, here the LORD says, "The Pure in Heart" will see GOD, perfectly describing to us the condition required to see GOD. So we can agree that what the writer of Hebrews 12 vs 14 intended was a Heart thing, a Heart factor. - Selah. Little wonder that man of the two (2) which hung by the sides of JESUS' Cross could make it to Heaven, because His heart was right before the LORD; He said "LORD, remember me when thou comest into thy Kingdom." {Luke 23 vs 42} - It was a Heart thing, a heart that is resolute to follow JESUS, a Heart that is made up to walk in the Will of GOD, a Heart that is made up to Love JESUS; He says that that heart will see GOD, that Heart will see JESUS! - That type of Heart. - Selah

You can also take note that the man didn't have any works of holiness with which to hold as a qualification to be with the LORD in eternity. By the way, he hung there on the cross because of His crimes, but He believed in the eternal purpose of the LORD'S death, holding confidently that the LORD is that Saviour the Law and the Prophets spoke of. He got Salvation; His heart was right before GOD. - Selah. So you see, Matthew 5 vs 8 precisely explains the context of Hebrews 12 vs 14.

And you see, this is the effect of the Gospel in a man, whereby a man literally and willingly walks in Love for the FATHER by reason of His knowledge of the FATHER'S Love towards Him;

'We love him, because he first loved us.' - 1 John 4 vs 19 {KJV}

"Right believing produces right living." - Pastor Joseph Prince

The knowledge of the Gospel gives to a man a Heart of flesh that is willing and obedient in Loving and walking in the Will of the FATHER;

'A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.' - Ezekiel 36 vs 26 - 27 {KING JAMES VERSION}

'For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.

Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before,

This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them;

And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more.' - Hebrews 10 vs 14 - 17 {KING JAMES VERSION}

When the eyes of a man sees the Light of the Glorious Gospel, the Law of GOD is imprinted in His Heart, He receives a Heart of flesh by the Gospel, hence that man Loves the LORD and is all out to only do those things that please HIM. So it is safe to say that by the continual hearing of the WORD of GOD'S Grace, a man is conformed to the stature of obedience to GOD even by the knowledge of the Gospel in Him; whereby serving GOD, Loving GOD, and Pleasing GOD is His eternal delight. - Selah

This man shall see the LORD. And this man is the Believer in CHRIST. Hallelujah!

I do hope this subject is clear to you now. AMEN.

GOD has Blessed you.
