'And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.' - Colossians 3 vs 15
Greetings to you dearly beloved of God in Christ Jesus. I trust God that this Article is gonna give you much light and insight into this Kingdom mystery which I now share with you. Amen.
Let's take a closer look at the first part of our opening Bible passage;
'And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body...' - Colossians 3 vs 15a {KJV}
It says, let the peace of God rule in our hearts. The word "rule" as used in that passage is from the Greek word brabeuō, which means 'to govern'. To govern means to lead, to have the authority or final authority over a people or a matter. Let's look at that passage in the Amplified Bible Translation to have a more precise view of that verse;
'And let the peace (soul harmony which comes) from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds, in that peaceful state] to which as [members of Christ’s] one body you were also called [to live]. And be thankful (appreciative), [giving praise to God always].' - {AMPLIFIED BIBLE TRANSLATION}
It says let the peace which comes from Christ act as umpire continually in our hearts. An Umpire is an official of a sports game, who decides the play of the game. So in other words, that verse says, Let the peace of Christ decide the outgoings of our lives in our hearts. Hallelujah! The verse says, let the peace which comes from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in our hearts, deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in our minds, in that peaceful state. Glory to God. So it's the peace of Christ that should decide and settle the decisions of our lives; it's the peace of Christ that should have the final authority in our hearts over our actions (whether to do them or not), our decisions (whether we should go on with them or not). Glory to God. If we live by this divine order, we will never be confused or frustrated over any decision or plan of ours, we will always know what to do. Hallelujah!
Let the peace of God lead us. We must be sensitive to know that the absence or presence of God's peace in our hearts is a divine voice of direction telling us what not to do or what to do.
A Believer must be sensitive to the presence or absence of God's peace in his heart, as that is a way at which God leads us and guides our actions and decisions. You are having plans to do a thing, and your heart is without peace, there's so much struggle in your heart? that's a clear leading from God that you should not do that thing which you planned to do. The verse says, Let the peace of God rule in your hearts. In other words, let the peace of God be the determinant that guides our thoughts, plans and actions, and this guidance happens in our hearts through the absence or presence of peace. So, God leads us from our hearts, and He uses the tool of PEACE to orchestrate His leading in our lives. Hallelujah!
Let the peace of God be the regulatory determinant of your life - This is God's pattern in leading us. Glory to God.
The Good News Translation of the Bible puts it plain;
'The peace that Christ gives is to guide you in the decisions you make; for it is to this peace that God has called you together in the one body. And be thankful.' - Colossians 3 vs 15
THE PEACE THAT CHRIST GIVES IS TO GUIDE YOU IN THE DECISIONS YOU MAKE
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
