THE DOINGS OF 'FAITH IN THE GOSPEL OF CHRIST'

'But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light...' -
1 Peter 2 vs 9

Our opening Bible verse is an information about who we are in Christ Jesus. God has revealed to us in the Gospel what and who we are in Christ. If you believe that His description of you is true, then that will be the life you live. If it's true, it will show. - Selah

Someone might ask, why is it not automatic? Why do I have to take responsibility for my Christian walk? Well it's simple. Taking responsibility for your Christian walk by your intentional doing and practice of the WORD is a show of your faith in God's word - it's a proof of your believe in the WORD.

'Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.' - Philippians 2 vs 12 {KJV}

WORK OUT

The usage of this word clearly shows to us that we Believers have been called to live by faith. How? By showing forth those things which we believe. - Selah

'And Peter answered him and said, Lord, if it be thou, bid me come unto thee on the water.
And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.' - Matthew 14 vs 28 - 29 {KING JAMES VERSION}

Peter believed it was Jesus, hence he stepped out of the ship. Him knowing Jesus, who Jesus is (His capacity and capabilities), and believing that it was Him who had asked him to come walk on water, he stepped out of the ship, and he walked on water.

Faith has doings. - Selah

Remember, faith that stands alone is not faith. Faith has works! Your doing is a proof that you believe. This has nothing to do with self righteousness. You believe the Bank can keep your money for you safely, hence you gave them your money by means of deposit. If you believed without making that deposit, you never really believed. - Selah

'Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.' - James 2 vs 17 {KJV}

If you believe, you will demonstrate it. This is the definition of faith. You believe that you are the righteousness of God? and you are a wilful sinner? Then you've not actually believed that you are the righteousness of God. The day you truly believe that you are the righteousness of God, it will be displayed in your actions. True faith has expressions.

If you believe that you are a child of light, then show it. That is Christianity - a place where you work out what you believe. In your believing is the ability to do. Taking the step to do is what is called Faith. That's the difference between "Believe" and "Faith". When you believe, you agree; when you have faith, you do. Faith does. - Selah. A preacher said, Faith is not what you believe, Faith is what you do to show that you believe. That means, the Bible verse that says that the Just shall live by faith, means that the Believers shall live a life that shows forth what they believe. - Think on this. The Bible never said that the just shall live by his beliefs, but rather, the Just shall live by faith. {Habakkuk 2 vs 4, Romans 1 vs 17}

So dearly beloved, if you truly believe that God has made you righteous in Christ even as the Gospel declares, that righteousness which you have become in Christ will show, men will see it. If it is not showing, if men are not seeing it; evidently, you are not living by faith - you are not making a practice of what you believe. If you are living by faith, you will be walking in every reality of the Gospel about you in Christ. It will be evident for men to see. Faith is your practical approach towards the things you believe in Christ Jesus.

Think on these words.

The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
