Dear friend,
Consider the situation you are in presently,
Consider that dispute you have with that fellow,
Consider the defamation and abuse that is befalling you right now,
Consider the fights men have with you right now.
Then a thought plays in my head, 'If it was Jesus!' What would He do?
Then certain Bible passages run through my mind:
At the point of torture and death, He said:
'And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.' - Luke 23 vs 33 - 34 {KING JAMES VERSION}
- Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do
Also,
'He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.' - Isaiah 53 vs 7 {KJV}
- yet he opened not his mouth
Uhmmm! The life of Jesus teaches us composure and attitude in the midst of suffering and persecution.
'For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:
Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously...' - 1 Peter 2 vs 21 - 23 {KING JAMES VERSION}
- because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps
The life Christ lived in this world is an example to the Believer how he should live and comport himself in this world, among men.
- when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not
No retaliation. Amazing!
As we meditate on these things and align our hearts in obedience to be compliant to Christ's standard as we have seen, we begin to experience these same comportments in our own lives, we begin to manifest these same conducts as we have seen in Jesus. Glory to God forevermore.
So dearly beloved, I know you are angry, I know you want to drop a bombshell, I know you want to give that fellow a piece of your mind. But before you carry out an action, ask yourself, If it was Jesus, what would He do? And the Holy Spirit will remind you of these Bible passages that I have shown you. At that moment, you'll be fine, and you'll behave the way God expects you to, as His beloved child. Amen. Glory to God.
The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen.
